Mandurah’s hosts a sell out Tea Party for the BCNA

27 Aug
Mandurah put on spectacular weather yesterday for the second annual MOM’s tea party which is an event held in support of the Breast Cancer Network Australia.
M on the Point played host to the fundraiser which was a sell out for the second year running. The venue was perfect for an afternoon of style and BCNA Pink lady cut outs were dotted along the waterfront which not only looked stunning but created awareness to people for miles right along the marina.
A high-spirited crowed arrived at the venue, wearing some spectacular fascinators to fit with the ‘mad hatters’ style tea party. The Mums of Mandurah (MOM inc) is a community group established to ‘connect, support, inform, inspire and empower’ and they hold events like this one to raise funds for benefits like the BCNA.
Upon entry we were offered to purchase a pink lady balloon which was an entry ticket to a raffle where some fantastic prizes were up for grabs. Both the raffle and the live auction raised funds for BCNA and the prizes were contributed by local business and artists. Some of the fabulous items included; a dress by George, a handcrafted fascinator by Cher Renea Milliner, a weekender at the Arrunda B&B in Yallingup, a Miglio Designer Jewelery piece and a framed Limited Edition Print by Emma Blyth.
With a room filled with pink balloons and the champagne flowing, the room had a celebratory vibe  which continued throughout the afternoon.
Guests were treated to delectable canapes and wines whilst enjoying a stunning fashion parade put on by Beez Neez Designer Boutique.
The speakers for the afternoon gave their own personal experiences of living with Breast Cancer and with inspirational stories, they reinforced to guests the importance of supporting such a worthwhile charity.
The Breast Cancer Network Australia is the leading national organisation to raise and grant funds for breast cancer research with the aim of achieving prevention and cure of breast cancer. They create awareness in our community and support and inform women and families about breast cancer.
Guests were invited to write a message of hope on a card which they could then hang from one of the pink lady figures dotted around the venue.
The event was a fantastic way to raise awareness for BCNA whilst putting on a fabulous afternoon of glamour and style!!
I was honoured to attend the 2012 MOM’s tea party and would recommend you to buy your tickets early for next year’s event! The tickets will again sell out as this party is proving to be a popular one!
